August Favorites // Food, TV Show, Lifestyle

This post is also available in: frFrançais

First article of a series that should come back from time to time on the blog I hope. A category where I talk about the things I’ve loved during the past weeks. Whether it’s a series, a book, an album, a restaurant, a shop, or food, I have no limits!

The UK Tv Show “Shetland” – on Netflix US

DI Jimmy Perez and his team investigate crimes within the close knit island community of Shetland.

We finally watched the Season 4 which was really good! I loved the first two seasons, the third a little less, but this fourth season clearly goes up. This series is really different from the tv shows CSI, if I had to compare it to a series I will say Broadchurch, and still it remains very different. Here the atmosphere is perfect, dark, slow, we find ourselves isolated on the Shetland Islands, murders take place in this small community, there is not much action, this series knows how to take its time without ever getting bored! In short, I highly recommend!

The book “You were made for this” by Michelle Sacks

I talked about this book few days ago on my blog, and now I realize how much I keep thinking about it, more than I thought. Now, I have a little trouble finding a novel that captivates me as much …

I invite you to read my full review here: book review

A soft drink, sweet, often organic, which reminds me of cider, right now I drink a lot of it. This drink has so-called many therapeutic virtues and is especially rich in probiotics!

wikipédiaKombucha (also tea mushroomManchurian mushroom, formal name: Medusomyces gisevii[1]) is a variety of fermented, lightly effervescent sweetened black or green tea drinks commonly intended as functional beverages for their supposed health benefits. Kombucha is produced by fermenting tea using a “symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast” (SCOBY). Microbial populations in SCOBY cultures vary. The yeast component generally includes Saccharomyces c. and other species and the bacterial component almost always includes Gluconacetobacter xylinus to oxidize yeast-produced alcohols to acetic and other acids.[2][3] blanc (70 g/l) ou miel, jus de raisin.

Ice Cream “So delicious”

Again it is food, with my favorite ice cream at the moment. Right now I try to avoid lactose and be dairy free, so I tried these “fake magnum” with almond milk. The mocha version is delicious and eating them doesn’t get me stomach ache, I can enjoy myself without worrying about the after, it’s perfect! It’s hot outside, it’s summer, you have to take care of yourself and allow you some pleasure, right ?!

And you, what’s your favorite ice cream?

Book of the month

I just subscribed to my first box! I have long had the desire, but I had never found a box that I liked enough, or they were too expensive! This is a book box, but here there are not all the goodies that are usually found in this kind of box (candles, cards, tote bag, …) and I don’t care about that because at home they will take the dust rather than anything else.

With Book of the Month, I pay $ 14.95 (if I remember correctly) per month. Every 1st of the month, they put online a selection of 5 books that has just been released or will be released shortly. In the hardcover version and you just have to choose the one you want to receive and read! If the selection doesn’t interest you more than that, you can skip the month and the month after you end up with 2 credits!

So I’m looking forward to September 1st to receive my very first box!

If you live in the US and you are interested, here is my referral link, it’s a win/win since we will get each 1 free book!

Imperfect Produce

And finally, another box but this time it’s different because it is food: fruits and vegetables. As the name of the box explains, here I will receive “imperfect” products or surplus stores, all at reduced prices!

We have just subscribed, we will receive our first box soon, but as I hear only good reviews I do not worry!

Here is my referral link if you are interested: imperfect produce.

And you, what are your favorites of the moment?
